A wary man held at the Abuja Municipal Council (AMAC) in the Federal Capital Region Abuja Municipal District Commission (FCT) has arrested a man accused of adulterating cooking oil and selling it to the public.
John Samuel said the VGN commander of the area said the suspect identified as Peter Amos was arrested Friday night in the Tipper Garage area in Kabusa district, where he lives and is also used to enforce the Evil Act.
On Sunday, April 20, in a video obtained by the Daily Trust, the suspect was seen in the narrative about how he packaged the fake cooking oil in five liters of cooking oil filled with water, and he added a small amount of cooking oil to him.
“In some cases, I sell a gallon at N10,000 or low,” the suspect said.
He also claimed that he had studied mechanics before resigning and resorted to fraudulent joint ventures.
He promised to cultivate another person who worked with him in the fraud.
The alert commander said the suspect was arrested after some residents accused him of cheating them through fraud.
The commander said he has since been handed over to police in the area for further investigation.
Police in the area confirmed the arrest but declined further comments.
