
United Task Force Force Tundun Wada arrested notorious kidnappers in the Tundun Wada local government area of Kano State.
Assistant Director of Public Relations of the Army, Kano 3 Brigade, Captain Babatunde Zubairu, assistant revealed this in a statement Tuesday, April 23, 2025.
According to the statement, the 55-year-old suspect was arrested during a security operation in Sumana village on April 20.
The suspect marched in front of Brig.-Gen, commander of brigade. Ahmed Tukur visited the troops of Falgore, the Forward Operation Base (FOB), Doguwa LGA, to celebrate Easter with them.
It noted that the commander praised the troops for their heroism and professionalism.
During the operation, caches of weapons, ammunition and other key items were recovered. The items listed include a manufactured AK-47 rifle, a gun gun, 9mm 9mm pistol ammunition and a woodland camouflage uniform.
A desert camouflage, a woodland camouflage vest and a motorcycle seat suspected of being used to hide weapons were also restored.
brig.-gen. Tukur praised the forces’ efforts and reaffirmed the commitment of Nigerian military and other security agencies to work with local authorities to restore peace throughout the community.
“The Army remains committed to the mission of protecting lives and property. We will not work to bring perpetrators of crime to justice,” the statement said.
It added that the suspect is currently in detention and preliminary investigation.
