Tensions have shaken the Kaduna community after the explosion in the area.
It was reported that there were earlier rumors that the explosion occurred in the Abakpa area of the northern local government area of Kaduna on Tuesday, April 22.
A statement released by the National Police Command revealed that the incident happened after Dane’s gun was discharged from the hospital, killing a 12-year-old boy and injuring many others.
According to the collection, the shooting sounded like an explosion, which scared residents and scared the herders.
Eyewitnesses and residents of the community who confirmed the incident said;
“I was taking a shower when I heard the explosion and ran out to see what was going on,” he said. “I saw an affected victim, Imam, trying to take him to the hospital, but he died before we arrived.”
Mansir Hassan also confirmed the statement’s spokesman, who said one person was confirmed dead and seven others were injured.

On April 22, 2025, at about 0830 hours, the police received a call in distress involving alleged explosions in the Josawa Road area in Abakpa, Kaduna.
In response, a police team led by Sichuan department departments was immediately dispatched to the scene. The incident claimed the life of a 12-year-old boy, believed to be Abubaka Mohammed of Joseva Road.
“In addition, the other seven people suffered varying degrees of injury and are currently receiving medical care.
“In contrast to the initial report, experts confirmed that the incident was not an explosion. A preliminary investigation by officials in charge of police anti-bomb squads showed that locally made guns (Danish guns) had been discharged, resulting in the unfortunate loss of life for the little boy.”
Police further noted that it had initiated an investigation to determine the exact circumstances of the incident.
“The police chief, garrison commander, state bureau chief, national bureau (DSS) and chairman Kaduna Northern Local Government all visited the site and conducted a thorough on-site assessment.
“The Police Command assured the public that further developments will be communicated quickly and transparently.
“The headquarters expressed its deepest condolences to the deceased’s family and hoped to recover quickly for the injured.” Added a statement.
