Adamawa’s police command said it had arrested a face Samuel, a resident of Yola-North LGA’s Army Barrack Road (Yola-North LGA) to mimic the Vehicle Inspector (VIO).
Command spokesman SP Suleiman Nguroje revealed this in a statement in Yola on Wednesday, April 23.
Nguroje said the National Intelligence Department (SID) command operator was arrested on Tuesday, April 22 after obtaining reliable intelligence at the suspect’s activities.
According to him, the suspect had been pretended to be a VIO official several times and deceived four people for 350,000 people because they pretended to secure jobs for them at the state Department of Transportation.
The report identified the blessings Kefas, Abel Samuel, Evlyne Amos and Friday Adamu as victims of the prey of fake Vio officials.
“The suspect has pleaded guilty to the crime, and also revealed that the VIO uniform used in the fraud was given to her by an unidentified person,” he said.
He cites police commissioner CP Dankombo Morris, urging the public to report such personalities to security agencies.
Morris also assured the public that a diligent investigation will be conducted to reveal other possible victims and collaborators of the crime.
