The appointment was officially announced in a video of the current online tour, with Governor Alia praising 2Baba’s lasting impact on the entertainment industry and his commitment to his hometown of Benue. The governor praised the music star’s continued support and pledged to cooperate as the government moves towards 2027.
“Let me really thank you for supporting my government and preparing me for 2027.” Governor Aria said in the video. “It’s not out of place because you’re a master of entertainment. Once you say 2face, even without this song, people start dancing.”
The governor further noted that 2BABA’s new role will involve providing expert guidance on recreation-related programs and community engagement programs to promote unity, creativity and youth development in Benue.
2Baba is a proud native of Benue, celebrated not only for his musical career on the charts, but also for his charitable work through the 2Baba Foundation. Foundation Champions lead to peacebuilding, education and good governance across Nigeria, among others.
According to the state government, 2Baba’s extensive experience and influence will play a key role in connecting with youth and promoting social development programs across the state. As shown in the Trend Announcement video, the state’s cabinet members received applause.
