South African police have stepped up searches for male suspects, Victor Hlayisani Shivambu, allegedly d3ath girlfriend Mihloti Faith Shikhibana.
The incident occurred on Monday, April 21, 2025, at about 12:30 in the town of Nkowankowa outside Tzaneen, Limpopo Province.
Provincial Police Department spokesman, Colonel Malesla Ledewaba, confirmed the incident in a statement Wednesday, saying officials were performing regular patrol duties when they received complaints about the M8rder incident at Letaba Hospital and rushed to nearby events.
Upon arrival, they were shown the body of a female victim lying on a hospital bed.
Police were told that the deceased was brought to the house by a relative who had brought to the upper body, but succumbed to her injuries upon arrival.
“Preliminary investigations revealed that a 44-year-old victim was stabbed by her ex-boyfriend while she was in Nkowankowa’s residence,” Ledewaba said.
“After the incident, the suspect fled the scene and has been evading arrests since then. The deceased was identified as Mihloti Faith Shikhibana.
“At this stage, the motive for the murder is unclear. The police are attracting people, Victor Hlayisani Shivambu, a resident of the Malamulele police district, to use himself to the nearest police, as we believe his presence may assist the police in the resolution of the M8rder case.
“Anyone with information about Hlayisani’s whereabouts are encouraged to contact investigative officer Ronny Baloyi. Police investigations continue.”
