Yaya Toure revealed his thoughts on who should win the 2013 CAF African Player of the Year Award in his latest interview with John Obi Mikel.
When asked about the 2013 CAF Player of the Year Award in Africa in 2013, he was a soccer icon and legendary Yaya Touré, a guest of the popular Obi One podcast Ivorian Legend, who hopes to win the award given their performance in the year before all competitions.
Yaya Toure and Mikel Obi were once strong contenders for the Africa Player of the Year Award in 2013, and in his own words, Toure confirmed that given Obi’s annual season type for clubs and countries in 2012, he believes the Nigerians should win the award.
However, he said he didn’t expect to win, but he planned to attend the awards ceremony, anyway, as support for African football brands, just like other continents.
He also encourages other African football players to always provide all or maximum support to the franchise at home, as it is important to have news about African football on the global stage.
