Events, renowned media entrepreneur and host of #WithChude Live! The Chude Jideonwo event pays a heartfelt tribute to 50 Nigerian TV idols who inspired, guided and influenced his life.
This tribute marks two major milestones: five years of Chude and 25 years of media.
“I always wanted to pay tribute to my childhood and teenage TV idols, the people who reminded me of the world in the TV box and imagine myself living that life,” Jod shared.
He added: “For five years in the media, 25 years in the media, I can finally do it.”
Chude highlighted 50 Nigerian TV talents who were impressed in his early life: “I was definitely my favorite when I grew up. Even if they might not know it yet, there was a young teenager who put it on TV every morning and felt more active, more active, and somewhat inspired because each of them was inspired.
“Your labor is not in vain. I am here the product of your talent, sacrifice and glory. It is my life honor to teach and lead by everyone.”
Looking back at some of these icons, Chude remembers Funmi Iyanda: “I remember watching Funmi on TV and just thinking, how could someone be so magical?”
Watching the new dawn of 1998 changed the way he watched Nigerian TV.
“Funmi is exactly what TV shows TV deserves.”
She also gave him his first salary.
“I still think Funmi is the greatest TV host in Nigeria,” he said. “I always love to go to work every morning because Funmi has created a magical place to work. We haven’t seen any TV shows like New Dawn since Funmi left.”
Speaking of Levi Ajuonuma, he recalled: “People always call me ‘the boy on Levi’s show.’
Levi gave him his first fame at the age of 16.
“I miss him. Even TV miss him, even if he’s still alive.”
Chudh called his death in the Dana crash “terrible” and “really shocking.”
Chuds also paid tribute to his mentor, Sir John Momoh.
“Some people have made a huge contribution to your life and John Momoh is one of them in my life,” he said.
He recalls how Momoh supported three young men trying to find their way in the media.
“For 20 years, John Momoh has been like a rock behind me and my co-founder of Adebola Williams, a Red Media Africa,” he added,
“In general, we’ve had four shows on Channel TV in 25 years. Some of them are Rubbin’s thoughts, which continue to work; Church culture, which is the first show; and Chude, which is currently airing on Channel TV.”
Chude also celebrates icons like Jumobi Adegbesan (now Mofe-Damijo), which he calls one of the most popular TV hosts. Ireti Doyle, who has known him since he was 16; Adesuwa Onyenokwe, who he described as the “It Girl” of TV; and “a person who can hold himself…just a pleasant person, her viewing.”
“I am here as a product of your talent, your sacrifice and glory. When I celebrate 25 and 5 years of Withchude in the media, it is the greatest honor of my life to be led and taught by everyone.”
