    Man k! lls his brother’s wife with pestle, hurts 6-year-old girl in Jigava

    “The Jigava State Police Command has arrested a Buhari Sule’M’, aged 25, of Jahun LGA, for suspected violent crimes in the village,” the statement said.

    “The suspect was considered mentally unstable, accused of assaulting and aggravated assaulting his brother’s wife and causing serious harm to the neighbor’s daughter with a pestle.

    “This tragic incident occurred on April 23, 2025, about 1,730 hours, prompting the DPO and its patrol team to respond immediately to the scene.

    “After arriving at the scene, the victim was taken to Jiahong General Hospital for medical care.

    “However, one of the victims died at the time of admission and the other is still under treatment.

    “The body was identified as Ummi Saleh’F’, 20, and the injured person was Hauwa Alkassim’f’, 6, Hauwa Alkassim’f’, both from the same address. The body was released to a relative for burial.

    “The suspect was arrested and is currently detained by police while the investigation continues.

    “Preliminary findings suggest that the suspect may be experiencing mental health problems. However, a thorough medical evaluation will be conducted to determine his or her mental state.

    “The commander of the Jigava State Police Department assured the public that it remains committed to ensuring the safety and security of all residents. We urge the public to remain calm and cooperate with the police as the investigation continues.”
