Myanmar authorities arrested an astrologer for predicting a new earthquake in a virus Tiktok video because of panic.
On April 9, just two weeks after the 7.7-magnitude earthquake killed 3,500 people, John Moe took X to publish an unsettling prediction about the earthquake.
John Moe warned that the earthquake would “attack every city in Myanmar” on April 21.
With over 3 million views in his videos, people are urging to “carry what’s important with you and escape from buildings during shaking.”
“People should not stay in tall buildings in tall buildings,” he wrote in the title.

Myanmar’s Ministry of Information said he was arrested on Tuesday, April 22 for “false remarks were intended to cause public panic.”
He was arrested in an attack in Sagan, central Myanmar.
Yangon resident told AFP that many of her neighbors believed in the prediction. As a result, they refused to stay at home and camped outside John Moe, saying the earthquake would happen.
