No shame when retirement? - TBAJ tells top gun musicians

Former Bbnaija star and media figure Tolani Baj has sparked serious conversations in the music world after sending a bold message to older musicians who are still trying to compete in today’s music industry.

According to her, there is absolutely no shame in retirement or development.

TBAJ questioned why many OG artists seem to be hard when they know when to transition. She notes that growth doesn’t always mean still chasing hits. According to her, sometimes it’s about new roles (such as business, mentoring or executive leadership) where they can be equally radiant.

    In her words

“If your voice no longer resonates with fans or the voice is outdated, start your business.*”

She praised industry legends like Olamide and Don Jazzy, saying, “Olamide and Don Jazzy are perfect examples of who OG artists should embody.” Both have become musical bosses, now setting the path for new talents and building the next generation.

TBAJ has not stopped the quality of music promoted by some older artists today. She asks why musicians have a rich catalog of past explosive board catalogs, which puts themselves under pressure from fans to abandon music that matches their legacy.

“There is no shame in retiring. Don’t give up on nonsense music to downplay your brand, especially if your past catalog is A1,” she said.
