You did not serve as the entire school or independent hospital of Governor Anambra throughout your tenure. You lack the moral stance that criticizes Tinubu Govt

You did not serve as the entire school or independent hospital of Governor Anambra throughout your tenure. You lack a moral stance that criticizes Tinubu Govt - Sanwo -olu tackle

Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu (Babajide Sanwo-Olu) plundered the Presidential Labor Party (LP) in the 2023 election, claiming that the former Anambra governor lacks Moorish people who talk about poverty in Nigeria.

In a statement, he signed “in fact, criticism of Mr. Peter Obey’s criticism of Nigeria at Johns Hopkins University”, Sanvo-olu accused Obi of contributing to the country’s current poverty and accused him of poverty in astronomy during his tenure as governor of Anembra and during his tenure as governor of Anembra.

Recall that Obi, who spoke at Johns Hopkins University last week, compared Nigeria, China and Vietnam in poor areas, stressed that Nigeria has about 50 million poor people, and in 1990 it was more poor than any of the three countries.

“The question then is, what exactly have these countries done to achieve the growth and development they need? That’s where political leadership comes from.

These comparable countries, in fact, differ from Nigeria, are other progressive countries with character, competence and compassion, committed to prioritizing investment in key areas of key measures: education, health and lifting people out of poverty. ” he said.

Sanwo-Olu argued in a statement released on Sunday that Obi not only “depreciated” countries abroad, but also “depreciated” Nigeria, he also issued a statement saying he had no moral status.

“On Thursday, April 24, 2025, former Governor Peter Obi was the presidential candidate for the Labor presidential election at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Maryland, where he made several derogatory comments about Nigeria.

He made self-evident comments not only about the current Nigerian government, but also about Nigeria. I also found Mr. Obi’s behavior unsettling. When famous Nigerians go abroad, they should actively project Nigeria.

They don’t have to do this for the government. But we all owe to sell Nigeria on the global stage rather than to stand out. This is true patriotism. ”

Sanwo-Olu said that because Obi is focused on poverty and said the current government’s policies have made Nigerians poorer, he will focus on it.

“Now, I find that people like Mr. Obi have not established a school or independent hospital for the entire eight years of their tenure as governor of Anambra or to provide sustainable credit facilities, which is an ironic irony that he would criticize the Nigerian government, which is actively doing so.

I say this because Nigerian President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is my former, who has built over 200 schools as the governor of Lagos State and now the president of Nigeria, and has provided student loans to over 200,000 undergraduates in the third-level institutions in Nigeria.

In less than two years, he has provided more than a billion dollars in credit facilities for small and medium-sized enterprises. ”

Although he served as governor of Lagos State between 1999 and 2007, Sanvo-olu said Tinubu reduced poverty by more than 46%, explaining that there is good reason to believe that based on what he did as governor of Lagos, he would repeat the same feat at the federal level.

“After all, the best prediction for the future is the past,” he wrote.

    The governor claims

“But let’s check the messenger, not just the information, and look at the issuer and the question. Mr. Obi talked about a good game. But can he reduce poverty when he ruled Anambra? Maybe we can let the facts speak for ourselves.

Under Peter Obi, the poverty in Anambra increased. It has not decreased. Before Peter Obi became governor of Anambra on Thursday, June 14, 2007, the poverty rate in Anambra was 41.4%.

But only two years later, Anambra’s poverty rate jumped to 53.7%. But it’s interesting that five years after Peter Obi left the office, his successor Willie Obiano reduced Anambra’s poverty rate from nearly 60% to 14.8%.

So I’m not sure if Mr. Obi has a morally adequate place to express his shocking statement about Nigeria at Johns Hopkins. Mr. Obi contributed to the increase in poverty in Nigeria. At that time, Governor Tinob was responsible for lifting millions of dollars out of poverty. That’s it, who should criticize whom? ”
