Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola congratulated Liverpool after an impressive victory, ending his outstanding streak of four consecutive Premier League titles on Sunday.
Arne Slot made a big impact in his first season after taking over Jurgen Klopp, leading Liverpool to a 5-1 victory at Anfield against Tottenham Hotspur, cementing their position as champions.
Under Guardiola, Manchester City won Premier League titles in 2021, 2022, 2023 and 2024.
Last season, they won the Premier League Championship and overcame the fierce competition from Arsenal. However, the performance has declined this season, resulting in them currently taking the fourth place in the league.
Guardiola took a moment to thank Liverpool for their achievements after defeating Nottingham Forest 2-0 in the FA Cup semi-finals.
He said “Before we start on behalf of ourselves and the club as a whole, we hope to congratulate Liverpool on our warmest congratulations to an extraordinary Premier League victory.
“It’s undoubtedly well deserved. They’re a great team. The second year gave me the effort to work hard for what I’ve achieved in the past four years and I hope next season we can improve our performance and compete until the end of the season. Liverpool. Congratulations again.”
