The late osinachi’s husband Peter Nwachukwu was hanged and sentenced to death.

Nigeria News NalinNwosu-iheme, District 2 of FCT High Court held in Abuja on Monday, sentenced the late gospel singer Osinachi, Peter Nwachukwu’s husband to hang him, the report said.

The Nigerian news platform learned that Nwachukwu was convicted of murder in a criminal, resulting in the death of the deceased (his wife) on April 8, 2022.

The judge ruled that the prosecution proved the legal burden of proof and then ruled that the defendant was guilty.

Nwachukwu was arraigned on June 3, 2022 by the Attorney General (OAGF) on behalf of the federal government on 23 charges.

The charge is against death penalty, criminal intimidation, cruel crimes against children, criminal intimidation of children, spouse assault, etc.

During the trial, the prosecution convened 17 witnesses, including the two children of the late Osage, to testify as the fourth and fifth witnesses prosecuted by witnesses PW4 and PW5.

The prosecution also tendered 25 documents as exhibits in court.

The defendant testified the defense and further summoned four other witnesses and presented four exhibitions in his defense.

Shortly before the verdict, the defendant, attorney Reginald Nwali, begged the court to plead for his verdict in his same way.

Similarly, prosecutor’s lawyer, Mrs. Adrenke Imara, urged the court to force as prescribed.

Justice Nwosu-iheme then sentenced Nwachukwu to death 1, while he was sentenced to two years in prison in the 2nd, 3rd, 3rd, 8th, 9th, 12th, 13th, 13th and 18th Earls.

The court sentenced the defendant to six months in prison on the 10th and three years in prison in the 11th Earl, while he was fined N500,000 and N200,000 on charges 6 and 7, respectively. (nan)
