
FCT Police Command has arrested eight suspects, including a couple involved in car theft.
On April 19, police received a stolen report from the federal secretariat of Toyota Corolla (ABC 570 FJ).
She mentioned that after the report, agents from the Scorpion Squad arrested a Yusuf Yunusa. She mentioned that further investigation led to the arrest of his wife Yusuf on April 25 at the Quali Regional Commission.
Adeh said the arrested wife admitted to buying Toyota Masters keys from Jumia’s online marketplace, which her husband used to steal a car, while she caused interference to facilitate the crime.
“In another case, on April 28, 2025, police responded to a report from a car buyer in a lifesaving camp involving a suspicious black Mercedes-Benz 4matic E-400 (Reg No. AAA 07 KA). After investigation, it was confirmed to have been stolen from Leki in Lagos. Five suspects were arrested and identified as Idris Suleiman, Isiyaku Habibu, Ganiyu Sadiq, Idowu Akintunde and Bello Muyideen. The stolen vehicle was recovered and the suspect admitted to stealing it from his employer.
Similarly, after a report by Mr Chinwenze Chinaza said his driver, a George Idung disappeared in his unregistered Toyota Hilux adventure, and the Mabushi department took the aforementioned driver into action with reliable intelligence police agents, in his village, in Akwa Ibom State, Akwa Ibom State, he arrested his village in an attempt to drive. He was detained and his vehicle had been recovered. ”
Adeh mentioned that all eight suspects were detained by police and would be prosecuted in court after the investigation was concluded.
She added that FCT Police Commissioner CP Ajao S. Adewale encourages residents to install tracking equipment in their vehicles, avoid isolating parking spaces, and verify vehicle ownership before purchasing.
