On behalf of the federal government, Home Minister Olubunmi Tunji-ojo announced on Thursday, May 1, 2025 that it was a public holiday commemorating the Workers’ Day celebration.
Naija News The report said that in a statement Tuesday night, signed by Magdalene Ajani, the permanent secretary of the ministry, praised the workers’ diligence and sacrifice, reaffirmed the need for peace to drive industrialization and economic growth.
He noted that the worker’s efforts were primarily responsible for the greatness of the country and the respect of Nigeria in the national comedy.
Therefore, Tunji-Ojo urges workers to absorb a culture of innovation and productivity.
In celebration of hope workers, the minister urged Nigerians to maintain hope as the government of incumbent President Bola Tinubu is committed to his promised new hope agenda.
He added:Labor has dignity; dedication and commitment to the work we do are crucial to national construction.
We encourage workers to raise their own trade standards to drive and upgrade governance standards and enable all Nigerians to get the most out of the country’s wealth.
“This government is fully committed to the safety of life and property of every citizen and foreigner in the country.”
