Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar said he did not run for his partner’s defection in the 2023 presidential election, and Senator Ifeanyi Okowa participated in All Progressive Conferences (APCs).

Atiku said in his media aide that he was neither bothered by Okowa’s decision to jump ship nor hurt him.

IBE said this while talking to the country. According to him, there is no reason for any negative sentiment of anyone exercising his democratic rights.

He further reiterated Atiku’s loyalty and commitment to the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), adding that all other discussions about leaving the party were just speculation.

He said:Former Vice President Alhaji Atiku Abubakar has no resentment. He has said that he means.

“As a Democrat, he abides by the universality and constitutionality of freedom of association, which is one of the pillars of democracy, without which there would be no point.

“We have addressed the issues with the alliance and remember that we have statements about this impact. Alhaji Atiku Abubakar did not leave the PDP, and he has made it clear.

“As for those who talk about his departure from the PDP, we don’t know where they get it.”
