
The federal government has announced Thursday, May 1 as a public holiday to mark this year’s Workers’ Day celebrations.
The Minister of the Interior Dr. Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo announced on behalf of the federal government.
In a statement by Magdalene Ajani, the Minister reiterated the need for peace to drive industrialization and economic growth.
Dr. Tunji-Ojo praises the workers for their diligence and sacrifice. He noted that the efforts of workers are largely a huge responsibility for the respect the country and Nigeria in the national community.
According to the minister. “Labor has dignity; dedication and commitment to the work we do is crucial to national construction.” Hence, he urged workers to absorb a culture of innovation and productivity.
Tunji-Ojo encourages workers to raise their trade standards to drive and upgrade governance standards and enables Nigerians to get the most out of the country’s wealth.
He assured Nigerians: “This government is fully committed to the safety of life and property of every citizen and foreigner in the country.”
The honorable minister urged Nigerians to keep their hopes in his happy celebrations as the government of the current President Bola Tinubu is committed to his pledge to re-hope agenda.
