
The Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) has announced that 41-year-old foreign national Elie Bitar, the country has wanted in connection with cryptocurrency fraud allegedly executed through the online trading platform Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX).
The EFCC said he is seeking Bitar in a fraud scheme that utilizes the CBEX platform to deceive unsuspecting investors in Nigeria.
“The public is hereby notified that the photo above Elie Bitar was wanted by the Economic and Financial Crime Commission (EFCC) for alleged fraud was allegedly conducted on an online trading platform called Crypto Bridge Exchange (CBEX),” the statement said.

The EFCC investigation into CBEX reportedly found a series of transactions related to Bitar and individuals, some of which have been arrested.
The committee revealed that the last known address in Bitar was “George Enemoh Crescent, Lekki Phase I, Lekki, Lagos State”.
The committee urges anyone with information on its whereabouts to visit its regional offices in Ibadan, Uyo, Sukoto, Maiduguri, Maiduguri, Benin, Makurdi, Kaduna, Ilorin, Ilorin, Enugu, Kano, Kano, Kano, Lagos, Lagos, Gombe, Gombe, Gombe, Port Harcourt, Harcourt and Abuja.
In early April, the digital asset trading platform “collapsed” and subsequently swept $1.3 trillion from investor wallets, causing damage to many Nigerians.
