Ola Olukoyede, chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, has urged Nigerians to appreciate that President Bola Tinubu does not interfere with the agency’s anti-corruption activities.
Naija News reported that Olukoyede said on the political side of the channel on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 that it dismissed Tinubu’s allegations that Tinubu is using the committee to target members of the opposition party.
According to him, the president’s main focus is how leaders of major ministries and government agencies perform their tasks.
Olukoyede added that Tinubu is keen on performance, but some have dispersed his good work.
A meeting was held between Siminalayi Fubara, Governor of River State, and Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Nyesom Wike.
Naija News learned that the meeting at the Wike residence in Abuja was designed to resolve the political crisis, which was due to the division between the governor and his predecessor, sweeping over the River State and ultimately led to President Bola Tinubu’s declaration of a state of emergency.

Nigerian troops denied reports that 26 soldiers were killed in the bombing caused by Boko Haram in Boko State.
A statement posted on its social media page on Wednesday clarified that no truth was claimed in earlier reports that 26 soldiers were killed and 20 others were injured in an explosion caused by an explosive device (IED) implanted by Boko Haram terrorists on the road.
The Army statement added that in the unfortunate incident on Tuesday, April 29, only two soldiers were killed and another injured, while the military was responsible for civilians moving from Damboa to the Comala exchange site.
It promises that a detailed report will be provided on this incident later.
The chief of Dele Momodu, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), insists that only northern candidates can challenge President Bora Tinub in the 2027 presidential election.

Professor Ogban, a scholar of soil physics at the University of Calaba, served as a return officer in the Senate poll.
