This happened around 10:00 am on Wednesday, April 30, in the Idimu area of the Alimoso Local Government of Lagos State.
The victim is said to be conveying the body from Ejigbo to Ikotun, which includes three commercial minibuses and a Toyota space bus.
Witnesses witness Foluke confirmed the incident and said the rest rushed to help the victims and protect the coffin.
She said
“Some buses were picking up passengers when a minibus suddenly crashed into another vehicle. The impact caused some of them to fall off the vehicle and they were injured.
“At first, we thought it was an accident between two buses with passengers.
“It was when we closed that we found out that when we saw the body of one of the bodies they were burying. The crew was also seriously injured.”
The bus driver also confirmed the incident, pointing out that the bus showed signs of a malfunction earlier, but the journey continued after the repair was secondary.
He said
“On the way from Ejigbo, the bus broke down midway and started driving slowly. Later it started working properly again and when we approached Idimu connected to Ikotun, I found that the brakes were no longer responsive. That’s how I lost control and hit the bus in front of me. I didn’t expect this terrible event today
The injured victim was taken to a nearby hospital for medical care, while the body was taken to a nearby hospital to continue on.
