The Nigerian Labor Conference (NLC) of the Kano State Chapter has recognized Governor Abba Yusuf’s second term.
Recognized during the International Workers’ Day celebration at the Sani Abacha Stadium in Cano in 2025.
National NLC President speaks at Thursday’s event Kabiru illustrations, The government’s commitment to workers and retirees benefits was praised.
He said Yusuf was outstanding as a worker-friendly leader, especially Nigeria’s first governor to implement a new 71,000 minimum wage.
“It is a bold and unprecedented move to alleviate the hardships of workers, especially given the rising cost of living,” he said. Shadow says.
The NLC chairman also praised the governor for consistently paying wages and pensions, noting that the government has cleared the 16 billion backlog of retirement benefits inherited from the previous government.
“The recent review of the monthly minimum pension from 5,000 to 20,000 is a testament to the Governor’s deep concern for us older people. ” The NLC chairman added.
Inuwa further highlights the recruitment of teachers, approval of staff promotions, and investment in regular training and retraining of workers, which are key reforms to regain Kano State civil servants.
He said:These achievements are not only expected to be achieved, but also reflect the governor’s real focus on the workforce.
“Governor Yusuf has won the trust and support of workers across the state.
“We have seen everything the Kano State government does to the workers. So, I asked, can I start the slogan of Allah Ya Maimaita (meaning ‘Almighty can repeat the government’)?”
Recognition marks a significant confidence in the labor community as Kano’s workers celebrate what they call a new era of inclusive and responsive governance.
