Allegedly kidnapped the EKSU graduate’s fals and planners - Ekiti Police

The Ekiti State Police Department has debunked news on social media about the kidnapping of Ekiti State graduate Helen Kayode.

Command spokesman SP Abutu revealed this on Sunday in a statement on Friday, May 2, 2025, saying the kidnapping was fake and planned.

According to Abutu, the command received disturbing information from a family member that Helen was kidnapped between Ivoroko-Ekiti and Ado Ekiti.

Police agents acted and arrested her boyfriend, Oluwanifemi Olusesan, who met with her on Thursday, May 1.

Olestin denied knowing about his girlfriend’s kidnapping.

He called Helen, who confirmed she was in Lagos but promised to return on Saturday.

“The Ekiti State Police Department wants to debunk the news on social media, with Helen Kayode, a graduate of Ekiti State University, being kidnapped and staying in an unfilled building surrounded by Bush because she was never kidnapped, but she was never kidnapped for reasons that are still under investigation but caught off guard.

“The order was kidnapped between Iworoko-Ekiti and Ado-Ekiti after receiving disturbing messages from family members and putting it into action and arrested the alleged victim’s boyfriend, Oluwanifemi Olusesan, whom she met with yesterday, yesterday.

“During the interrogation, the boyfriend said he had been with the so-called victims all night before heading to Lagos in the early hours of this morning.

“However, he said he had no idea of any information about being kidnapped by his girlfriend. He immediately called his girlfriend by phone, who confirmed that she was already in Lagos but promised to return to 03/05/2025 tomorrow.

“The order implores the public to ignore false information while reassuring citizens for national security and ensuring that the order continues to prioritize the maximum security of all and all.

“Polce’s Ekiti National Commissioner CP Joseph Eribo warned that the creation and release of false information that can create unnecessary tensions in the state, as well as the circulation of such false and unverified information, as the order will ensure that anyone who needs to find can face problems with the law.”
