House Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu has assured President Bola Tinubu that Igbos will receive 70% of the vote in the 2027 general election.

According to him, no president remembers the promise of the Igbo as Tinob did.

Kalu said in a statement issued Friday by Chief Press Secretary Levinus Nwabughiogu.

He asserted that Tinubu fulfilled his commitment to rehabilitation, reconstruction and reconciliation of Yakubu Gowon’s military regime and established the Southeast Development Commission.

Deputy Speaker said this on Friday at Ntalakwu in the Ikvano Local Government Area of Abia, in a grand reception to commemorate him, the political structure of his former House member Emeka Atuma.

Kalu guaranteed the Southeast to be prepared to continue to support the government led by President Bra Tinubu.

The fish got it.”We promise to the President that Igboland has a vote of 70% to 80%. Let us continue to keep as people who love peace and unity. No other president remembers the post-war commitments to the Igbo people, such as President Bola Tinubu.

“Fifty years have passed, the government has come and passed, and no one thinks the right to fulfill the commitment to NDI IGBO, only President Bola Tinubu has mastered that promise in person and said there must be a platform to respond to the recommendations made to NDI IGBO.

“He chose the Southeast Development Council, which no other presidents accepted the signing. He answered our questions and enabled us to develop rural communities in Eagleland. He signed the SEDC bill into law and funded it even if opponents said he wouldn’t. He loved Ndi Igbo, we love Igbos, we remember those who loved us.”
