Prince Harry said he would “love reconciliation with the British royal family”, but his father, King Charles III, “will not” him.
The 40-year-old Duke of Sussex told the BBC that his willingness stemmed from the hatred that he and his wife, Meghan Markle, left because he did not “know how long his father was” and that his father, who was fighting cancer, left.
“There are a lot of disagreements between me and some of my family,” he told the media.
But he said he started by “forgive” them.
“I really want to reconcile with my family. There is no need to fight anymore, life is precious,” Harry said.
His latest conflict with the King stems from a call for Harry to maintain security details of his taxpayer-funded since moving to the United States – he was lost on Friday.
The legal team behind the decision said it was inappropriate for Harry to have publicly paid security since escaping his royal duties.
Harry said Charles “wouldn’t talk to me because of this security” but admitted: “I can’t see the world, I’m bringing my wife and children back to the UK now,” he told the BBC after the court failed.
“All of these issues have been repeatedly and carefully examined by the court, and each time the same conclusions have been reached.” Buckingham Palace told the BBC in a rare statement.
