The defense headquarters has confirmed the arrest of four people accused of providing logistics personnel to terrorists in the northeast, including two members of the hybrid force working with the troops in counterinsurgency operations.
The arrests were conducted during coordinated military operations in Bama, Kukawa and Borno and the Madagali local government areas in the Adamawa State from April 26 to 29. Major General Markus Kangye, director of Defense Media Operations, revealed that the discovery of two mixed forces personnel contributed to terrorist logistics, marking a serious breach of trust within the military phase.
Kangye expressed deep concern about the betrayal he described and warned military commanders to strengthen the sensitivity of personnel, especially members of the mixed forces, in order not to undermine ongoing operations against the insurgents.
He noted that “in a well-coordinated operation in Bama, Kukawa and Madagali Lgas in Borno and Adamawa states, the troops intercepted four terrorist logistics suppliers. Sadly, two of them were identified as members of the hybrid force.”
Kangye reported that the troops cooperated with the hybrid forces to carry out a series of offensive operations in the areas of local government in Gwoza, Dikwa, Dikwa, Bama, Chibok, Gujba, Gujba, Geidam and Yunusari. Several terrorists were killed and six kidnapped victims were rescued, weapons, ammunition, motorcycles and bicycles were recovered.
In the south and south, the military has also made significant progress in its campaign against oil theft and illegal refining. According to kangye, more than 86,000 liters of crude oil, 72,000 liters of illegally refined diesel were recovered, and more than 2,600 liters of gasoline were recovered. The troops also removed numerous illegal refining sites and seized ships, tricycles, vehicles, storage tanks and cell phones used in many illegal operations.
