Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike strongly condemned the strike against First Lady Oluremi Tinubu on Friday, May 2, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, who said he said a group of women loyal to the suspended river governor Siminalayi Fubara.
The event occurred during the New Hope Program Authorization Program organized by the First Lady’s Office of the EUI Event Center in Harcourt Harbor GRA. The campaign aims to benefit 500 women in the state from a variety of authorized programs.
In a statement from his senior special assistant to public communications and social media, Wike described the action as “very disturbing and embarrassing” and apologized to First Lady and President Bola Tinubu. “The insult of anyone who represents the First Lady of Nigeria in the incident is a direct insult to the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria,” Vick said. “As the leader of the River State, I am deeply sorry.”
According to Olayinka, the strike was led by “some fired vice-chairs of local governments” who undermined the plan by the character of Wike as a destruction of etiquette and peace in the state.
Wick, who is currently performing official duties in China, targets Fobala’s supporters and urges them to “stop laughing at the country.” He also challenged the suspended governor to be honest with his intentions and said: “It is not enough to visit people for peace. Those who really want to work on peace and act for it.”
He further accused the camp Fobala for hypocrisy, saying: “These are the same people who beg for peace, but at the same time, the opposite of what they beg for.
Wick said the strike would not be taken away easily and criticized his so-called call for reconciliation. “All these pranks will not bring peace, and I believe they know that because they are not sincere in their pleading for peace.”
At the end of his statement, the FCT Minister reiterated his objection to the incident. “As for me and those who agree with my leaders, we totally condemn yesterday’s shameful expression and we apologize to the First Lady for the embarrassing behavior of figures and ideal minority women who do not represent the people of Rivers.”
