
Four seminary people from the Enugu Catholic Church were in a bus crash at Ikwete Village in Obadu Ranch Bottom Hill in Obadu Ranch Bottom Hill in Obadu Ranch Bottom Hill in Cross River State.
The seminary people visited the Obdu Ranch Resort on Saturday, May 3 when they encountered an inappropriate destruction.
According to reports from the area, theologists have completed their ranch trip and are on their way home when the brakes on the bus failed, plunging it into a valley in the Ikwete community’s bottom mountain.
Four seminary people were on the spot, and nine others were injured. The injured are being treated at a hospital in Obdu.
Governor, Senator Prince Bassey Edet Otu, said in a press statement signed by his chief press secretary NSA Gill, that the state government is establishing the necessary connections to contact individual families to provide any necessary assistance.
“We are deeply saddened and we acknowledge the tragic accident at the Ikwette Community on Saturday, May 3, 2025.
“The unfortunate incident resulted in the death and harm of nine people. Our thoughts and prayers are with the victim’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.
The accident involved a vehicle carrying 13 people and preliminary reports suggest that a braking failure could have led to the devastating incident. ”
The statement said emergency services at ranch resorts, including Nigerian troops, responded quickly and we thanked them for their swift action.
It added: “Safety is our top priority at ranch resorts and beyond and we will review the safety measures for each visitor.
“We urge all visitors to prioritize safety, including the road attitude of the vehicles and to adhere to all guidelines while entering our beautiful attractions and leaving the resort’s reach.”
