Peter Obi’s strong ally, Oseloka Obaze, has abandoned the Labour Party in the Anambra primary.

Nigeria News Nalin In the 2023 general election, Peter Obi and Osloka Obaze, a key ally of the Labor presidential candidate, reportedly resigned from membership of the party.

The Nigerian news platform learned that Obaze revealed this on Sunday in the LP chair of Ochuche Ward 406, Ogbaru local government in AWKA.

Former UN diplomat Obaze was secretary of the Anambra government under Obi and worked closely with him as an adviser and chief of the party until he resigned from the LP.

He said his decision was to express his disapproval and protested the party chief primary election held in Anambra on April 5.

According to him, “With this letter, I hereby incur the resignation of the Labor Party (LP).

“The process, behavior and results of the Labor gubernatorial primary were held at the AWKA on April 5, 2025, and were full of thorough violations that plague fraud and crime.

“This is not consistent with the party’s constitution and the true purpose of embracing core values or democracy.

“So, I’m here to separate myself from the Labor Party,” he said.

Obaze told the Nigerian News Agency that it confirmed that “the letter is true and speaks for itself”.

Obaze also cites the LP’s leadership crisis at the national level and rejects the party’s leaders’ coordination or reconciliation of Julius Abure and Senator Nenadi Usman factions.

However, he did not disclose his next political move.

Obaze resigned from PDP in 2022, heading to Labor a week earlier than Peter Obi.

He then became Peter Obi’s campaign manager and one of the famous brains behind the Obedience movement
