The Congressional Presidents Forum (CPC) has stated that it must support President Bora Tinub’s administration.
The forum said in a statement issued Sunday by State Secretary Sulaiman Oyaremi on Sunday that it believes they have a responsibility to support Tinubu and contribute to all progressive Congress (APC) transformation.
The forum further stated that it respects individuals’ decision to stay or leave the APC and regards it as an exercise of democratic rights.
Oyaremi’s statement reads:We believe that we owe ourselves the obligation to support the party’s current president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and contribute to the transformation of APC into an inclusive institution where all stakeholders will have a sense of belonging and ownership.
“Unfortunately, as several camps speak for the resolved CPC, this situation exposes a lack of coherent leadership within the enterprise. We further worry that this road sign lacks inclusion in the leadership capabilities of APC and the government it fosters.
“It is an unspoken reality that members of the already resolved CPC, especially the former state chairmen of the traditional party, have not been treated fairly through government appointments or party institutions at the national level, and they have contributed to the success of the party’s election.
“Opposing contradictory statements about the position of the CPC group in the APC, we believe that those who choose to leave or stay in the APC are simply exercising democratic rights.
“In terms of members of the State Speaker Forum of CPC, which has been resolved, while we are not satisfied with those who have decided to withdraw from the APC, we want to say without any ambiguity, except for some of us, we are deciding to keep a consistent decision in the party with our principal, former Muhammadu Buhari.”
