Two top competitors who replaced Pope Francis are reportedly charged with unlucky claims of child abuse. Italian Cardinal Pietro Parolin and Philippine Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle cannot be trusted to protect children from abuse, according to a campaign group. The U.S. regulator Bishop Accountability claims that the couple rejected the criminals’ church records, making them unsuitable for solving the problem, which is one of the main challenges facing the bishops today. The Cardinal will vote at the next Pope at the meeting starting Wednesday. Anne Barrett Doyle, co-director of bishop accountability, spoke at a press conference outside the Vatican wall on Friday. “If Cardinal Palorin becomes the Pope, we will have a secret secret manager, and I think hope for any transparency about sexual abuse will be completely destroyed,” she said.
