John Obi Mikel’s time at Chelsea was marked by consistency, loyalty and silverware. Mikel signed in 2006 in a controversial transfer legend involving Manchester United, spending 11 years at Stamford Bridge. Although he was initially an offensive midfielder as a young man, he developed into a solid defensive anchor under José Mourinho and other top managers.

Mikel is a key part of the 2009/10 Premier League side under Carlo Ancelotti, and the club also won the FA Cup.

He once again won his second Premier League title in 2014/15 in Mourinho. Overall, Mikel, along with Chelsea, won all major trophys in the club level, cementing his position as one of Nigeria’s most successful exports.

But Antonio Conte’s arrival in 2016 changed everything. Conte transformed Moses into a defender in his 3-4-3 system, a move that proved Chelsea’s success.

The revelation of Moses becoming the role is played as Chelsea continues to win the Premier League title in the 2016-17 season. His unremitting work rate, offensive running and defensive discipline have made him one of the outstanding players on the campaign.
