
On Monday, May 5, the Kano High Court sentenced four men, Nafi’u Isah, Haruna Ya’u, Nadabo Mohammed and Sa’adu Musa, all to 40 years and six months in prison, each of whom was armed and attempted to rob.
The suspects were convicted of four counts of conspiracy, armed robbery, attempted murder and causing serious injury.
Judge Usman Na’abba made a judgment that the prosecution had proved no doubt about his case.

He also sentenced 10 years in prison for attempted murder and five years in prison to cause serious injury.
The judge ordered the offender to pay N650,000 to the complainant, from which they collected the complainant or spent an additional five years in prison.
The judge said the judgments would be made simultaneously.
Earlier, the prosecution State, Mr. Lamido Abba-Sorndinki, told the court that the Criminals Committee had been in Kunkurawa village on May 1, 2022 at 10:00 am in Kunkurawa village in Dawakin at 10:00 am 2017.
He said that on the same day around 1:00 a.m., the criminal had a gun, stick, stick, knives and broke into a Haruna Shehu house in Kunkurawa village, Kano village.
He said: “The defendant beat the complainant and his family members and caused serious injury to his son Ado Haruna Shehu. The offender also robbed Shehu and his family N650,000 payments.”
Prosecutors presented six witnesses and exhibitions to prove their case against the criminals.
However, the criminal denied committing the crime.
Abba-Sorondinki said the crime violated Articles 97, 298(c), 230(a) and 349 of the Criminal Law Act of the State of Kano, 1991
Defense attorney Mr. Sani Idris presented the criminal’s testimony in his own defense.
