Six passengers were hit on the hillside after a helicopter took people to the pilgrimage site.

The plane landed on the Gangotri route in Utakashi district of Utakhand, India on Thursday morning, May 8 in a forest area near Gannani.

It has now been confirmed that six people, including pilot Robin Singh, suffered tragically K-level injuries while another was injured.

Witnesses said the helicopter collided with a tree, prompting locals to start screening out wreckage to help any potential survivors.

Locals quickly arrived at the scene before the rescue team could reach the crash site in difficult terrain. The chopper set out from Sahastradhara Helipad and ran into four men and two women, as well as the pilot on the way to Kharsali.

It is understood that the passengers are pilgrims visiting Char Dham, four Hindu pilgrimage sites in India.

The helicopter was operated by Aero Trans Service Pvt and crashed near the temple of Ganganani Nagraja.

Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami said the National Disaster Response Force and the Regional Administrative Team have arrived at the site to provide relief and carry out rescue operations.

“It has been very sad news that someone was injured in a helicopter crash near Gangaani in Uttarkashi. The SDRF and the regional administration team arrived immediately at the relief and rescue efforts.”

“May God give soul peace to those who die in accidents and to give the strength to the family of loved ones to bear great losses.

“I have directed the government to provide all possible assistance to the injured accident.

He wrote in a later article: “Our priority is to make every devotee’s journey safe, smooth and memorable process.

“We are improving arrangements related to Yatra every year, which is why devotees create new records every year.”

The exact cause of the crash is still under investigation. District Sheriffs in Uttarkashi are heading to the crash site to assess the situation.
