    Children, others were injured as heavy rain and storms wreaked havoc in Calabar (video)

    Several people, including children, were seriously injured, and on Wednesday night, heavy rains hit Calabar with a violent storm, which suffered a violent storm on Wednesday evening.

    After two hours of heavy rainfall, the vehicle movement was also destroyed, trees and telephone poles were removed, roof tops were blown away, and several buildings were destroyed, leaving many homeless.

    The storm also lowered several wires in different parts of the city, forcing Port Harcourt Power Distribution (PHED) to cut off the power supply in the affected areas.

    The rain began with severe storms and thunder, which lasted about two hours, and economic activity also destroyed economic activity as the metropolis was flooded and blocked major drains.

    The main streets affected by the rain include Murtala Mohammed Highway, Calabar Road, Mary Slessor Avenue, Effio-Ette Junction, Target-Goldie Street Axis, Unical Community, Atimbo Road and 8 miles.

    Meanwhile, the state government on Wednesday recommended residents in affected areas to take precautions by pruning overgrown trees nearby and nearby.

    Information Commissioner Dr. Erasmus Ekpang in a statement urged residents to avoid damaged wires and wires to resist any upcoming danger or death.

    Ekpang implores all relevant government agencies and officials, including Harcourt Electric Power Distribution Company, to correct the damage caused to power facilities after the disaster, in order to restore power supply and remove debris from citizens’ interests.

    The government urges residents to act cautiously to avoid casualties.
