The National Food and Drug Administration (NAFDAC) has found a hot spot where adulterated and expired alcoholic beverages are sold in Lagos.
The suspect Madu Abuchi Simon, who was caught in the act of forging popular brands such as Hennessy, William Lawson, Baileys, Martell, St. Remy and Jameson, tried to escape but was arrested.
After searching the house, NAFDAC agents found expired Amarula cream wine, empty branded bottles and cartons, stickers, stoves, buckets, cotton wool, and purple chemicals that can be used to clean and reuse bottles.
In a statement shared on social media, the agency said more than 100 cartons of fake alcoholic beverages were recycled and further investigations were confiscated.
“Nafdac reveals an action involving adulterated and expired alcoholic beverages in Lagos. One fell into forgery in a bill that forged popular alcohol brands including Hennessy, William Lawson, William Lawson, William Lawson, Baileys, Martell, Martell, Martell, St. Remy and Jameson.
