A court heard that a nursery allegedly hurt the baby in an attack filmed on CCTV, by punching, grabbing and pinching them.

Roksana Lecka, 22, has been accused of leaving scratches on the baby’s face and pinch marks on their legs and stomach, while working at a £1,900 a month riverside nursery in Twickenham, southwest London.

A jury was told that the 23 children were injured under the care of a 22-year-old nursery, who cared for children between 10 months and two years.

Further charges of child abuse involve alleged incidents in which she hired. The jury was told she was hired at the time and there was no evidence that she was a protective risk.

CCTV footage seemed to show the woman pinching one of the children. The child was allegedly covered with red marks.

In the clips played in court, Lyca allegedly pinched a child in many places everywhere. Another shot seemed to show her hair and pinch their faces.

The Crown Court of Kingston was told another clip appeared to show Lecka before removing a baby from the crib and punching her to the side. With the same child, she allegedly grabbed their arms and pulled her hair, causing them to hit the table.

Prosecutors said Lecka looked around the room to see if other staff could witness the behavior. The principal did not check the CCTV footage until a colleague reported that they had seen her pinch the child’s leg. The video allegedly showed her pinching the child to her nose, body, wrist and mouth.

When Laika was arrested, she made a prepared statement to the investigators, which read: “I deny attacking any kids at Riverside Nursery…I went to work that day and lived a normal day. No kids seemed to be injured. We had procedures to deal with these kids to deal with these kids, and I insisted on the harm of these kids. I didn’t hurt these kids.”

Lecka faces cruel allegations of children. She has pleaded guilty to two charges and denied 21 further offenses allegedly between January and June 2024.

    The experiment continues.
