Agents of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, Lagos Regional Bureau Ikoyi arrested two Chinese nationals and six Nigerians on suspicion of participating in illegal mining activities in the Ogun State Ogere area.
Dele Oyewale revealed that the suspect was arrested during a sting operation on Friday, May 9, 2025.
He identified the opinions as Zhang Hang Lin, Gao Pei Hai, Matthew Mathias, Oluwaseun Amoo, Wasiu Ademola Alao, Ajibola Nurudeen, Ibrahim Yinusa, and Saidu Shuaibu.
The items recovered from the suspect included three trucks containing substances suspected of lithium powder.
Some solid minerals that have not been identified, a Toyota 4Runner SUV, cell phone, suspicious low-grade lithium, ATM cards, international passports, four LED flashlights, and other samples were also found.
