Judge Arun Subramanian is preparing to play a key role in the high-profile trial of Sean Diddy’s comb, and public debate is expected to begin seriously on Monday. When he is now a federal judge, Subramanian’s sympathy and dedication during his tenure as a civil attorney was remembered by his former client.
Mary and Joel Rich were filed by Subramanian on behalf of Fox News, and they recalled that he was an honest and humble man. The couple sued the network after publishing a widely publicized story, claiming that the late son Seth Rich leaked Democratic National Committee emails to Wikileaks in 2016. After the settlement of the lawsuit, Fortune invited their legal team to dinner in New York City to show their appreciation. Subramanian agreed to attend – but insisted on paying the entire bill in person. Fortune describes the upscale Italian dinner as generous, pointing out that gestures encapsulate the judge’s character.
“He treats us like his family.” Mary Rich added that she hopes to see Subramanian again in order to give him a big hug. The couple praised him as a respected, glorious and graceful person who always prioritized his own well-being.
Since the jury selected Diddy for trial, Subramanian has been often seen entering court, often blending with commuters, wearing headphones, without showing the seriousness of his role. Known among his peers for his humble and rooted nature, Subramanian is also a fan of karaoke and even bought his judicial robe online. His calm manner and relaxed presence reportedly helped to alleviate potential jurors during the intense early stages of the trial process.
Born in Pittsburgh and born to immigrant parents, Subramanian spoke openly about the importance of family, highlighting each member during a 2022 Senate Judiciary Committee hearing. His handling of Diddy’s case, allegations of sexual trafficking, transport of prostitution and extortion, marks one of the most important cases in his judicial case.
Arick Fudali, a lawyer representing anonymous government witnesses and two Didi’s accusers, said most of the shape of the trial will depend on what evidence is allowed – the final decision was in the hands of Judge Subramanian. His ruling is expected to set the tone that has been described as one of the most closely watched cases of the year.
