Controversial Nigerian singer Portable publicly criticized the organizers of the African Magic Audience Choice Award (AMVCA) for accusing them of Vice Chairman Ibrahim Chatta at the recently concluded 11th Awards ceremony.
Portable responded to AMVCA via enthusiastic videos on its Instagram page, claiming Ibrahim Chatta GAA Homedeprived of the award due to so-called industry politics and preferences. The award ended up being a performance by Femi Adebayo Seven doorswhile Chioma Chukwuka packed the best actress.
“Even in Nollywood, there is a gang in the entertainment industry in Nigeria. Despite his outstanding performance, they refused to get Ibrahim Chatta at AMVCA. Portable sigh.
He further criticized Nigeria’s reward culture, saying honors are usually given based on influence and money rather than merit. “We don’t need a reward. We need food and money. Some people buy awards. Ibrahim Chatta, if they don’t respect you, God will reward you,” He added that Chata’s mentor and inspiration were called.
