A South African woman, Lusanda Coboza, 40, and her 19-year-old daughter, Anelisa Hailie-jade Coboza, 19, were shot to their home in Sakhasonke Village, Walmer location.
Advocacy group, Women of Change, revealed this in a statement on Monday, May 12, 2025.
The incident occurred on May 1, 2025. Their funeral will be held in Soweto on Saturday, May 10.
According to police, police responded to reports of shootings at Walmer’s location. Upon arrival, they found Hailie-Jade and her mother had multiple gunshot wounds.
Both were announced as D3AD on site.
The suspect fled, but four men aged between 28 and 46 were arrested shortly after the terrifying M8rders.
Police are investigating cases of conspiracy to murder, murder and possession of unlicensed firearms and ammunition.
Hailie-Jade is a 12th grade learner at Gqeberha University Girls’ High School.
The group added: “We are heartbroken by the loss of such a beautiful soul. Another mother and daughter were murdered. How many more people must die before declared a national disaster based on gender and women.”
