    Kano police arrested man allegedly his sister’s boyfriend

    Kano police arrested M#rder who allegedly was his sister

    Police in Kano State arrested a 25-year-old man known as Mansur Umar for his allegedly his sister’s boyfriend was visiting Kunya Village in the state’s Minjibir local government area.

    According to a press release issued by Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) SP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa, the incident occurred at around 9:30 pm on Friday, May 9, 2025. The victim, identified as Sulaiman Musa, also 25, a resident of the same LGA’s Goda village, reportedly visited his girlfriend, Fiddausi Umar, at her residence.

    The statement mentioned that it was during the visit that Fiddausi’s brother Mansur Umar allegedly hit Sulaiman in the head with a stick, causing serious harm to the victim. Initially, he was taken to Kunya Cabin Hospital and later transferred to the Murtala Mohammed Expert Hospital in Kano. Despite medical efforts, he was pronounced dead at 12:50 a.m. Saturday.

    Police said the suspect has been detained and the case is currently being handled in the homicide case of the headquarters’ criminal investigation department.

    Police Commissioner CP Ibrahim Adamu Bakori condemned the bill and called for calm, urging residents to accept the peaceful conflict.

    He further encouraged citizens to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity as part of an effort to maintain law and order in the state.
