Court Prison? and? tdollar? Abuse of Naira in Lagos

The EFCC Economic and Financial Crime Commission’s Zonal Bureau of Lagos District 1 has secured convictions and sentences for Babatunde Peter Olaitan and Tobilola Olamide to result in a six-month prison sentence to cause dismemberment of the Naira bill.

They were imprisoned by Justice Alexander Owoeye of the Federal High Court in Ikoy, Lagos on Thursday, May 8, 2025.

These criminals were tampered with individual single charges and tampered with Naira’s notes and sprays, each of them begging for “being guilty.”

The charge against Olaitan reads: “That you, BABATUNDE PETER OLAITAN, on 8th April 2025, at 23, Macdonald Road, Ikoyi, Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this Honorable Court, whilst dancing during a social event, tampered with funds in the denomination of N200 (Two Hundred Naira) issued by the Central Bank of Nigeria by spraying it, and you thereby committed an Offence, contrary to Article 21(1) of the Central Bank Act of 2007, shall be punished.”

The charge against Olamide is: “You, on April 8, 2025, you, at 23 MacDonald Road, Ikoy, Lagos, within the jurisdiction of this glorious court, danced in social activities while standing out in social activities, thus tampering with nira and nia and nia and nia and nia and nia and nia and nia and nia and nia and nia and nia and nia and nia and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and nira and

In view of their request, prosecutors attorneys CC Okezie and Hukofarnaisa examined the facts of the case respectively through EFCC investigator Ibrahim Bukar.

Bukar explicitly told the court in his evidence that the committee conducted an intelligence-oriented investigation into Tiktok on April 10, 2025, Olaitan, also known as tdollar, sprayed Naira notes in it.

He also told the court: “After the intelligence approval of the regional director, a letter of investigation had been sent to the defendant, asking him to make a statement on the video.

“The defendant reported to the SOT to the Special Operations Team on May 5, 2025 and recorded his statement with caution.

“He said he went to a nightclub on April 8, 2025 and met some of his fans to share the money.

“He also said that in the process, a fan gave him a bunch of N200 notes and sprayed some of his other fans.

“Show him a video of him spraying money and making a statement on that.”

Therefore, the defendant’s extrajudicial statements and videotapes were provided and accepted by the court.

Therefore, Okozie and Kofarnaisa prayed to the court respectively to convict and sentence the defendant on corresponding charges.

Justice Owoeye convicted Olaitan and Olamide and sentenced him to six months in prison and chose a fine of N200,000 (200,000 naira).

The criminals’ path to the correctional center began when they were arrested by EFCC agents for abuse by Naira. They were charged with convictions in court.
