The former military administrator and one-time special duties minister Caleb Olubolade (RTD) of Bayelsa State already has D! ed.
Leadership reports said Olubolade also served as Minister of Police Affairs and Secretary of State when he played lawn tennis in Apapa, Lagos on Sunday, May 11, and played lawn tennis in Apapapa, Lagos.
He praised from Ekiti State, now 70, to mark his last birthday on November 30, 2024.
In a statement jointly issued by his first daughter, Oluwayemisi Akinadewo and eldest son Dayo Olubolade, the family revealed that the retired officer drove to a nearby tennis facility and collapsed during the game.
“He drove to play lawn tennis at night and stumbling during the game. The medical staff around him worked hard to make him helpless,” the statement said.
He was subsequently taken to the Obisesan Naval Medical Hospital in Apapa, where he was declared DE@d.
The family said details of the burial arrangement will be announced later.
