Lagos, Nigeria – May 12, 2025 – Just a week after Yaba’s sensational kickoff, the 2025 Tomtom Breathing (BTI) Poetry Challenge, Barz on thewhew of Wheelz entered Agege, which boosted the volume of original talent and street energy.
On the Amoo Football Stadium on Saturday, May 10, the Agege version attracted more than 100 contestants as it became a fierce showdown of lyrical ability, creativity and authenticity. Participants provide dynamic scriptures, many of whom incorporate elements from their immediate environment, demonstrating not only their skills, but their ability to adapt, improvise and reflect real street stories.
The judges of the day, the killer little doctor on Africa Street, Bleakz, and the music director of the Catholic Church, John Paul, and the music director of Sielo Deanery were impressed by the talent and competitive fires presented throughout the event. DJ 4Kerty once again flows the atmosphere with a continuous and vibrant music, allowing the crowd to fully engage.
Tomtom’s brand team cited an unprecedented twist, which was such a strong performance that in addition to winning the championship, the first place could be chosen, which underscores the brand’s commitment to recognizing and cultivating outstanding grassroots talents.
The winner of the Times is Lukuman Kamilu, also known as Leekee, whose confident delivery, smooth flow and thought-provoking lyrics have made the judges and crowds stunning. Haruna Mohammed (aka Dannyboi) became the first runner-up after showing a fascinating performance full of passion and lyrical maturity.
Lekee received a 1 million cash award, a six-month Tomtom supply and a coveted attraction at Tomtom Hearthea Academy, a creative hub designed to provide guidance and brand building opportunities. Dannyboi was awarded 300,000, a six-month Tomtom supply and received a place at the Breathing Academy.


While reflecting on the powerful talent on display, Abidemi Ajayi, category manager, gum and candy, Cadbury West Avricra, “What we witnessed at Age is simply incredible. The energy, information, information, artistry, the talent of these young people brings everything to the stage. On Tomtom, we have won the next generation on tomtom. Enough.”
BTI Poetry Challenge, Barz on Wheelz Tour continues its journey within its range, with the next stop scheduled to Oshodi on Saturday, May 17, followed by Ikorodu on Saturday, May 24. As the bars rise, the streets are even higher, and the streets are ready, so is Tomtom.
