Nigerian veteran rapper Ruggedman has publicly dismissed the virus report, claiming he was arrested by Nigerian police at the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Panti, Lagos.

Earlier reports said a deputy police commissioner had ordered the detention of strong people with other music veterans Not enough sunshine,,,,, Zakky Azzay,,,,, Boniface Itodoand Raymond Lasisi. The group is reportedly accused of theft, criminal trespass and theft from the National Secretariat (PMAN) of the Nigerian Performing Musicians Association (PMAN).

The incident has attracted public attention from social justice advocate Harrison Gwamnishu on Instagram and accused artists of being treated unjustly without proper investigation.

However, in the video message shared on Saturday, May 24, 2025, Ruggedman explicitly debunked the news of his arrest and claim. He describes them as unfounded and the product of misinformation. “Don’t be fooled by fake news.” The rapper warned that clarifications had not occurred.

He further explained that the dispute stems from internal disputes within Puman, accusing suspended members of spreading falsehoods in order to retain control over the musicians coalition. “We suspended our suspension from Puman, the disgruntled person claimed that the office we visited was short of funds and provided no evidence.” Ruchman said.

He stressed that the group’s actions were part of a broader effort to regain Puman’s rights from alleged mismanagement and protect the rights of Nigerian musicians. His remarks have since sparked widespread reactions, with fans and industry colleagues praising him for his transparency and courage in solving the problem.
