Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez have set up a new fourth-tier Uruguayan football club called Deportivo LSM.
The former Barcelona teammate announced the club through its official social media account as they embarked on a new mission in their football career. The name of the LSM club was created by the names of two former Barcelona players.
Luis Suarez was very excited when he announced the news on Instagram.
He said
“Today, I want to offer Uruguayan football, which I have loved and grown up since I was a child, is an opportunity and tool to help all teenagers and children grow up. That’s why in the case of a club we want to start participating in the AUF (Uruguayan Football League) world, which is a huge improvement for me and my family, and it’s a huge improvement in my program.”
What is Messi’s comment on the creation of the club?
He said
“This dream won’t end here, share it with our family, friends and close friends. We’ve experienced a lot in common since we were kids; we’ve shared a lot of experience at the top of football, which is why I’d love to introduce a friend, a teammate. This project is the perfect place to continue to share the football vision, and have had the same vision since we started.”
The team is expected to train at the Luis Suarez Complex, a nearly 20-acre facility with a synthetic turf stadium that can accommodate 1,400 spectators and a 7-A side course that can accommodate 620 fans.
