
Sidi ould Tah from Mauritania was elected the ninth president of the African Development Bank Group (AFDB).
The board of directors is the highest decision-making body of the banking group.
TAH will serve five years on September 1, 2025, following the end of the second mission of Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, Nigeria.
He beat the other four contenders with the highest vote. Other contestants in the position are: Amadou Hott (Senegal), Samuel Monselle Mobo from Zambia, Mahamat Abbas Toli (Chad) and Bajabril Swazi Tshabalala from South Africa.
