

Bayer Leverkusen forward Victor Boniface announced his retirement from the Super Hawks after a friendly match against Russia.
Boniface announced its withdrawal from the national team on Friday, June 6, 2025 through its official Instagram account. In the 61st minute, he was replaced with Toluwase Arokodare, who scored a crucial equalizer in the game to save the Eagles from failure.
Boniface has recently been criticized by Super Hawk supporters since being asked to represent.

Victor Boniface hasn’t scored any goals for the Super Eagles, though his impressive performance against Bayer Leverkusen. He made his debut for Nigeria in a 6-0 win over St. Tome and Principe in September 2023, providing an assist for Samuel Chukwueze’s goal. He has played eight games for the national team without scoring since.
