In other news, popular star Uriel Oputa from reality TV Big Brother recently shared her thoughts on obvious trends involving Igbo men. She expressed concern that the number of women married to Igbo men is growing, larger than women who are much older in some cases. Uriel stressed that this pattern has become increasingly common in recent years and is attracting attention within the community.

According to her, the motivation behind these relationships seems to be getting rid of love and company. Instead, many of these men seem to marry older women mainly for the purpose of obtaining foreign passports and the opportunities they bring. Uriel’s observations suggest that access to immigration benefits may be a stronger driver than true romantic interests or emotional connections in these unions.

Some people think this trend is considered disturbing because it influences traditional perceptions of marriage and relationships in Igbo culture. Often, Igbo marriage emphasizes love, respect and family compatibility. Uriel’s comments remind people to reflect on the reasons behind the choices people make in relationships, urging her Igbo Brothers to consider sincerity and authenticity in consideration of convenience or material benefits.

Uriel spoke out, hoping to raise awareness of the issue and encourage more real connections in relationships than transactions caused by passports and other external interests.
